Starlink Software

Introduction

The Starlink Project was a long running UK Project supporting astronomical data processing. It was shut down in 2005 but the software continued to be developed at the Joint Astronomy Centre until March 2015, and is now maintained by the East Asian Observatory. The code is open source.

on C/Tcsh:

source /star/etc/login
source /star/etc/cshrc

Version

The current version of Starlink is 2015B Installed Tue Jan 5 16:30:15 GMT 2016

Testing

Type

gaia

After the initialisation commands above, if you get the gaia image viewer starting, then it looks like Starlink software is working.
